You can get your International Driver’s License at AAA. We got ours last year and it was fast, easy and cheap. No tests, just a few forms to fill out. You can go to the AAA web site to verify that Norway accepts this license. But I believe most do.

These drops appear discreet, floating in their own little part of space, but they are all connected by the web and they depend on the atmosphere for their surface tension. We are the same. We walk the Earth on our own two legs, but we breathe the same air here where I live in Canada as they do in Australia or Norway. Air, water…our ecosystem is one.

Get a lawyer who is familiar with immigration law in Norway and re-apply for reconsideration. Good luck.

  1. You may only use certain foreign licenses for 1 year in Norway, and after that you will have to transfer to a Norwegian one.

    From: http://www.velkommenoslo.no/english/recognition/recognition.htm:

    “EU/EEA countries
If you have a driving license from an EU/EEA country, you do not need to have it validated in Norway – you are free to drive. It is valid in Norway as long as it is valid in the country of origin, with one exception: if your license is issued for heavy vehicles (lorry/bus), it is valid for 10 years after you arrival in Norway. This type of license can be exchanged for a Norwegian license at your nearest traffic station.

    Countries outside EU/EEA
A driving license from the following countries is valid for one year:

Albania, Algeria, Argentina, Australia, Belarus, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Brazil, Bulgaia, Canada, the Czech republic, Chile, China, Croatia, Egypt, Estonia, Hong Kong, Hungary, Indonesia, Israel, Japan, Latvia, Lithuania, Macedonia, Malaysia, Mexico, Moldova, Monaco, New Zealand, Peru, Poland, Rumania, Russia, San Mario, Singapore, Slovakia, Slovenia, South Africa, South Korea, Taiwan, Thailand, Tunisia, Ukraine, USA, Venezuela, former Yugoslavia and the former Soviet states.

To obtain a Norwegian license, you must pass a practical test within 12 months after your arrival in Norway. Enroll in a driving school as soon as possibe – there may be a waiting list, and after 12 months, you must go through compulsory driving lessons.

If your driving license is issued in a country not mentioned above, ordinary driving lessons are mandatory before you can do the theoretical and practical tests and have a Norwegian license.”

  2. you were NOT rejected just because you are Kurdish.

there must have been something else that caused them to deny you.

are you a member of the PKK?
did you blow up anything in iraq or turkey,
do you have any police record – arrests , jail time etc?

those things MAY have been the reaosn for your denial.
