Another myth:
Denmark gives the most of its GDP (1.01%) to developing countries: Norway
gives 0.91%: The Netherlands give 0.79% and so on until the end of the list, where
the USA sits. Yes the USA ranks DEAD LAST in foreign aid at the pathetic 0.1% of
its GDP, compared to the other 21 nations listed as developed nations. The idea that
the US government is a heroic bunch that runs around the world helping the poor and
the ddis-empoweredis not backed up by the evidence. We have one of the stingiest
governments on Earth.

Most Americans believe the US spends 24% of its budget on aid to poor countries:
the actual amount is well under a quarter of 1%. Our country also ranks #5 on the
asylum-seeker acceptance rates (#1 is Denmark and #2 is Canada)

as for gun crime/deaths

Chart: The U.S. has far more gun-related killings than any other developed country

Question by Aty: Have heard that making eye contact at job interview in US may be disrespectful as international employee. Why?
Heard that on a job interview or at work in general in the U.S., making eye contact as an international employee to other workers, especially employees with higher status, may be disrespectful. I am from Norway, and I’m having plans to study one year in college in the USA, and because of that, I want to know about which working opportunities I have as a student. I am not totally familiar with the American culture, so I don’t see the disrespect in making eye contact. Can someone please explain me what this whole thing means, as I don’t really understand the description of it in the “language” the political documents describes it with. Why is it disrespectful to make eye contact for me, and not for the U.S. citizens? Maybe you please could refer to some good web sites that explains this easily? Thanks anyway!

I was always told that making eye contact in an interview was a good thing and I live in the US. Being from another country won’t matter. We meet people from all over the world all the time.

One comment on “Is america a good country to move too ?

  1. Fact the less gun control in a city has the less gun violence because everyone is in defense mode. But if there is a city with lots of gun control its harder for a law abiding citizen to get a gun but it is easy for a criminal to. Because a criminal is don’t follow the law and is bad. So move to a city for town that is open, free like country. I’m in one and we have to lowest crime :).
