1. Working holiday visa are processed quickly (six days) since they are only available to citizen of countries with a low risk of illegal immigration (Belgium, Canada, Cyprus, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Malta, Netherlands, Norway, South Korea, Sweden, Taiwan, United Kingdom). The visa can be used to travel to Australia within 365 days, hence there is no need to wait with the application.

2. You will receive a Notification of Grant letter to your postal or e-mail address. It will contain the visa grant number, the period your visa is valid for, and the visa conditions. The visa is issued electronically (label free). Airlines and immigration officer are able to check your eligibility to travel to Australia on a database.

Question by someshpuria: Working in Czech republic with Netherlands Work permit?
Hi,

I an a non EU national and am employed in the Netherlands and have a Netherlands work permit.
My Dutch Employer has obtained a project in the Czech republic and wants to send me there to work at a local Bank (I would be still employed by the Dutch Employer).

Do I need to have a work permit for Czech republic? Will the Netherlands work permit hold good given that both are Schengen states? My Dutch employer would be billing me to the Czech company for the work done by me.

Does having a NL work permit mean that I can work in any Schengen country for that employer?

Thanks in advance

For either of the above visas, you will receive a grant notification letter at your nominated email or postal address. Make sure you keep this notification as it describes the conditions that apply to your visa. It will contain:

    • your visa grant number
    • the validity date of your visa
    • the visa conditions
    • full details of what you must do next.

If your visa is not granted, you will receive a letter at your nominated email or postal address. This letter will contain the reason for the decision.
Note: You must not make arrangements to travel to Australia until you are advised that your visa has been granted.

You do not require a visa label in your passport unless advised by the department in your visa grant notification letter.

Your visa application is linked to the passport number used in your application and you must use the same passport to travel to Australia.

If you obtain a new passport after lodging your Work and Holiday visa application (Example: if your passport is stolen, lost, damaged or expires), you must advise the department of the new details, including:

    • passport number
    • date of issue
    • expiry date

You may do so either by email or by faxing a copy of the biodata/photo page of your new passport.

If you fail to advise the department of your new passport prior to your travel, you may be refused or delayed entry until your identity and claims to enter Australia have been checked.
